Required equipment for basic practice consists of: a waster and a fencing mask, although allowances will be made for novices. Schollers or those who plan to test for the rank of scholler must own equipment as listed in the ranking section.
A typical extended practice schedule for a Harleian Two Hand Sword session is as follows (Saturday schedules follow the same format, but are shorter):
Salute/Greetings, Stretch, Warm-Up (15 minutes)
Free Play/Coached Sparring (30 minutes)
Technical Training, Tactical/Stress Training/Conditioning (30 minutes)
Fixed Play Study and Performance (20 minutes)
Cool Down, Review and Meditation, Fare Well/Salute (10 minutes)
At present, the student-level curriculum studied by the Black Falcon School of Arms focuses upon Harleian Two Hand Sword with grounding in Silver's basics. Schollers are responsible for setting their own additional training time for their extra fields of study.
